I have set up this blog for the yang yong & yoong family. This great idea is actually from Pei Fen during a discussion (including myself, Boon Soon & Boon Kiam) re keeping in touch via the internet. Since Boon Soon had collected and updated many of the yyy family members email contacts, i think i should contribute a bit for the yyy family.....
Anyway, the reason why i have named this blog Yang Yong & Yoong family is that though we have the same Chinese character surname "杨", our surnames in English spelled differently. My parents also "bu zhi dao" why...
Btw, I am very fresh in this area ie setting up and maintaining the blog. Please do comment and advise.

Hi,
I know why our family name is spelt differently. Our parents were reliant on the nurses to help them register our births so the spellings are dependent on the dialect of the respective nurses. For instance my sisters are Lay Hoon and Lay Keow but I am LAI Peng because the nurse who helped my mum to complete the registration form was probbaly cantonese speaking!
